No peace on Earth with neurotic liberals

It’s Christmas day 2015. I’m sitting on our back porch smoking a cigar and thinking. Humid air sucked up from the Gulf of Mexico, keeping an Arctic front at bay, brought massive cloud bands, lightning, tornadoes and heavy rain to the Southeastern States for several days. Daytime temperatures here on the North Carolina coastal plain approach record breaking 80o F.

Dark gray cloud banks move eastward over the Cape Fear River toward me. They look ominous, but on the northern horizon some sunlight illuminates a white cloud patch. Slivers of Carolina Blue sky suggest the end of stormy weather. A slight breeze cools the ground air a bit.

Weather like politics constantly changes driven by heat. I’m thinking that political winds portend a stormy future for America.

We’ve opened presents and put a ham in the oven for a hearty mid afternoon dinner my wife, her sister and I will enjoy. One hundred feet north of our porch light to medium brown winter-phase marsh grasses interspersed with narrow dark channels of water from Lord’s Creek mingle with brackish river water. A quarter of a mile on the north side of the marsh a dark green forest stands silently tall on ancient beach dunes extending as far as I can see up the east side of the river.

Nothing on earth is static. Everything constantly changes, but mentally disturbed “progressives” expect to fix the earth’s climate elements in time, and radically disrupt human lives to accomplish their distorted visions.

In a few years the upland landscape beyond the marsh will be reshaped and most of the longleaf pine-turkey oak woods will be replaced with a beautifully designed, privately planned suburban community called “River Lights,” with housing, shopping and recreational facilities. It will blend with the east bank of the river—another marvel of architectural creativity incorporating safety, function and beauty. But neurotic liberals will complain and disparage the effort.

Except for some traffic noise I hear on River Road in front of our condo complex, all is calm. At this little earthly spot, peace on earth, goodwill to men seems appropriate on the day we honor the birth of Christ. Yet, for the first time in my 80-plus year lifetime, I can’t ignore knowing that evil domestic forces again threaten our once peaceful and tranquil American ideals. The signs are everywhere—and increasing.

Anti-American fascist movements infiltrate and expand into our institutions and personal lives. Radicals control federal government upending our Constitution, courts, education systems and culture. Americans have elected a revolutionary Marxist president. Abortionists preside over millions of baby killings with glee authorized by five court judges. Foreigners invade our country with little government resistance; even condemning States for defending their borders. Our political leaders encourage crazy inmates to control our cultural asylums. Madness pervades in modern America.

Is it a surprise that Islamists want to rid the world of us?

Political cowards and petulant college students demand that revered historical Confederate symbols—now “offensive”—be purged from respectful locations on State grounds and campuses. Our president forms political alliance with a Middle East terrorist state. The Mexican government threatened legal action against the State of Arizona when citizens overwhelmingly passed a resolution to deny illegal aliens taxpayer benefits. The governor of California imposes draconian water rationing on his citizens while diverting millions of gallons to the Pacific Ocean to favor a small, obscure fish.

Five “supreme” black-robed judges changed the traditional definition of marriage. A federal environmental agency arbitrarily declares a non toxic, live-giving vapor an air pollutant with rules intended to destroy an entire energy industry. Black South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn irrationally blames voter identification laws on the shooting of a black man by a white police officer. Suicidal Islamists are dismissed as normal criminals while the ideology of hate and murder they follow is declared a “peaceful religion.”

Are Americas becoming suicidal?

Violent mentally disturbed loners select “gun-free” zones to commit mass murder, yet more “gun-control” is the liberal solution. Childish demands on college campuses shut down classes, free speech and result in administrative resignations. Radical, screaming street thugs are allowed to disrupt commerce and threaten the safety of normal citizens.

The sickness spreads.

An international political “panel” uses incorrect mathematical models to “prove” that people cause climate change, predicts catastrophic climatic events 100 years’ hence, and promotes government policies to force us into costly, unreasonable lifestyle changes.

We could go on with these insanities, but they can be explained.

In one book, “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder” by Dr. Michael Savage, the author writes: It is those “on the fringes of compassion and the jagged border of anarchy (who) want to erase our borders, our language and our culture…The disorder of liberalism has so twisted reality that the traditional family is called ‘dysfunctional’ while the ‘community’ is regarded as the hope for mankind.”

Good is evil, evil is good.

Dr. Savage continues, “How this imbalance can occur in otherwise well-educated and (presumed) intelligent people can only be understood by psychoanalysis. And only by the process of psychoanalysis can one reach the reasonable conclusion that such extremism in thinking is in fact a mental disorder.”

Credible evidence indicates that radically liberal politicians are afflicted with neuroses. Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr., M. D., a psychiatrist with 40 years experience diagnosing and treating mental disorders, wrote about “massive transference neurosis” that afflicts leftist political operatives. The “utopian world (they seek) is completely impossible, given the realities of human nature, human relating and the human condition.”

Continuing to follow the same bogus theories and failed policies, and expecting different results, defines the mental condition of these people.

In his book, “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness,” Dr. Rossiter discusses the irrational thinking of radical liberals and how their disordered visions lead to distorted, harmful public policies:

Thus the radical agenda is the product of a massive transference neurosis played out in the world’s economic, social and political arenas. In the drama of it all, the radical liberal is protesting his original economic, social and political system, his family of origin, because it deprived him, abused him or neglected him. In his bitter rejection of ordered liberty, he hopes to heal the wounds of his childhood with an idealized world created by the modern liberal intellect.

It is a distinctively liberal conceit that by rejecting older conventions, older moralities, and the settled foundations of civilized freedom, the liberal social scientist can create a new world that will redress all of the citizen’s grievances and relieve all of his fears, especially those of need, risk, conflict and evil.

In disregard of the laws of human development, the laws of economics, the laws of social relating, the laws of rational politics, and the logic of choice, the modern liberal persists in a vain hope that his new world will have all of the advantages of ordered freedom and none of the hardships, burdens, costs, risks and responsibilities that have always attended it.

To add to the tragic core of his endeavor, the radical liberal will continue to deny that his efforts will bring terrible destruction to the cause of freedom.

This psychoanalysis won’t give us peace of mind, but it helps explain what the future holds for America unless sanity prevails in our normal population, and liberals get treatment for their neurotic behavior—and quickly.
